Winks 8 - True Disclosure
"We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people."
John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 35th US President, (1917 - 1963)
My novel is fiction, yet the Disclosure issue is a reality.
It isn't, as the uninformed might respond, just the subject of conspiracy theorist nightmares.
The issues it raises, the preparations our governemnts worldwide are undertaking, the partial disclosures that we have already experienced (remember Nate's argument about Blue Skies? - that's based on fact) are immense.
Using Nate Arnold's voice in the novel, I have touched upon a few of these. Through events (the Preacher's reaction, for example), I highlighted others.
If you are intrigued by the concept and wish to explore the reality, I have a recommendation for you.
I was over half-way through writing the novel when, through a fortuitous series of circumstances, I came across a reference to a superb analysis by Richard Dolan and Bryce Zabel.
I sent off for a copy from Amazon and carried on writing while I waited for its delivery. When it finally arrived, I took a few days away from penning my novel and read their book. I was amazed that my own conclusions, based upon several month's research, and those of the authors coincided in many places. Their analysis, however, is far more extensive and complete; after all, I researched only to write the novel.
I would recommend their book to anyone who wished to read about the real Disclosure issue.
